Wed, 28 Dec 2011 22:45:43 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.2.1 Combat Sport Academy http://www.heathermwhiting.com/blog/2011/12/28/combat-sport-academy/ http://www.heathermwhiting.com/blog/2011/12/28/combat-sport-academy/#comments Wed, 28 Dec 2011 22:45:43 +0000 admin http://www.heathermwhiting.com/blog/?p=561 In the last year I know that I have done many post on CSA.  It is one of my favorite places in the east bay.  When I first signed up to do CrossFit there by trainer (the amazing Jessica Fitzgibbons) said “It’s like a family, people come in even when they aren’t doing a class, just to hang out.”  And it’s true.  I had to take a few months off of crossfit (knees, darn knees) and I would find myself heading to CSA just to say Hi.  I’ve never done that with my other gym…ever.

So earlier this month I was asked to help photograph the Ladies of CSA Crossfit – this is going to be a calendar for 2012 and the proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project and Barbells for Boobies.  I’ll let you know when the Calendar is ready for sale!  All of the women in this calendar are amazing, beautiful and strong women…all of them workout at CSA. (That should get you to come to the gym!).  These are real, normal people that workout hard and live normal lives.  Sometimes they struggle with time management or what/how to eat…sometimes life just happens.  But all of them are dedicated to working hard and having fun…they smile freely, laugh often and live to the fullest.  They are some of the best people I know.  (Most Crossfitters are that way!)

So while I didn’t achieve the same athletic ability (or body) that these women have…I did learn a lot and have a lot of fun doing it.  I can’t wait until next year’s Calendar shoot (hopefully done in warmer weather!) because watching all my family at CSA grow, achieve and reach (and break) their goals is what helps to motivate me! And his smile is just so infectious!

Thank you again Little Family for letting record a little bit of your life!
